How vehicle information works

What you see on a van's page

  1. PhotosSome are open to everyone, all of them after you sign in. In a claim, the photos prevail over the written description. How claims work
  2. Price and sale typeOpen auction, blind auction or fixed price. The price shows after you sign in.
  3. VAT type and pick-upDeductible or margin VAT, whether the van is ready, and where you collect it.
  4. Car profileCategory, seats, mileage, engine, first registration, country of origin and emission class.
  5. DocumentsThe appraisal report from an independent service such as Dekra or Macadam when there is one, plus registration papers, COC status and invoice type.
  6. EquipmentThe seller's option list, for example a partition, a side door or a roof rack.

Seats, doors, load dimensions and payload. The seller supplies these, so some listings show more than others.

Auction rules

Bids in open auctions cannot be cancelled. In blind auctions you can change or delete your bid while the auction is live. Fixed-price vans have no bidding: you buy at the listed price.

Costs to include

Total cost = bid + commission + transport + preparation.

Commission starts from €250 per van, and from €200 for vans from Belgium. The full scale is on the costs page. Pay by bank transfer from your company account within 3 working days after you win.

Example

You win a van from the Netherlands at €8,000. The commission is €300, so €8,300 excl. VAT. Then add transport or collection, registration in your country and any repairs.

Confirm your company's deposit.

Companies outside the vehicle trade buy on different conditions and pay a higher deposit. You pay it once, it is fully refundable, and it unlocks unlimited bidding. Ask our team for the amount and conditions that apply to your company.

Documents and plates

The van arrives without plates.

With the van you get the invoice, the original registration papers and the COC when there is one. Documents depend on the van's origin, so check the van's page for registration papers, COC status and invoice type. The van does not keep its original plates. You register it in your country. Our team explains how to get transit plates for the drive home, or you order delivery and the van travels on a truck. If you drive the van home on transit plates, a Belgian technical control is required first. It costs €300 to €450, depending on where the van is.

After you win

Collect in Belgium or order delivery.

Every van goes to our compound in Belgium first. Collect it in Puurs or Ghislenghien, Monday to Friday, with a transport company or with your own company plates. Or order delivery to your business address. We give a price per route, and delivery takes about 10 working days on average once the van and the delivery are paid.

    Open auction: you see the highest bid and can go higher. Blind auction: you send your best offer and can change it until the auction ends. Fixed price: you buy at the listed price.

Do we have to be a car dealer?

No. Companies outside the vehicle trade can buy on eCarsTrade. The conditions differ and the deposit is higher, but you pay it once and it is fully refundable. Contact our team for your company's terms.

How much is the deposit?

The amount depends on your account level and on whether your company is in the vehicle trade, so our team confirms it for you. You do not need a deposit to create an account and see prices. You pay it once, before unlimited bidding. It is fully refundable once your transactions are complete, within 20 working days.

Is registration free?

Yes. Registration is free and there is no membership fee. You pay a commission on each van you buy, from €250 per van and from €200 for vans from Belgium.

Which documents do I need to register?

Your company details, your VAT number, your company documents and the ID of the company owner. Your account manager can help.

Can we buy just one van?

Yes. There is no minimum order. You can buy one van or several.

Can we buy several vans for a fleet?

Yes. Once you have paid the deposit, you can bid without limits. After your account is approved, an account manager helps you plan your purchases and the transport.

What information comes with a van?

Open the van's page for the photos, specifications, VAT type and pick-up time. The appraisal report, service history and documents vary by van and origin.

What if the van is not as described?

Send a claim with photos or a video of the problem. We reply in writing within one week. The photos in the listing prevail over the written description. A claim must be worth more than €300 excl. VAT. Report body damage as soon as you collect or receive the van, and technical faults within 48 hours. Vans over 250,000 km, vans listed as damaged or with technical issues, and faults visible in the photos cannot be claimed. Read how claims work.

Is VAT the same for every van?

No. The invoice type and VAT treatment depend on the van and on your company's situation. Check the invoice type on the van's page first.

Where do I collect the van?

Every van goes to our compound in Belgium first. Collect it in Puurs or Ghislenghien, or order delivery to your address. See delivery information.
